Peoria, Arizona – The Peoria Police Department has confirmed that 12-year-old Sandra Pena, who was reported missing last night, has been found safe. Sandra, a Hispanic female standing 4’9” tall and weighing 112 pounds, was last seen wearing a pink and white polka dot shirt and blue shorts with butterflies. She was believed to have left her residence near N. 91st Avenue and W. Bell Road around 8:45 p.m., riding a light green-colored scooter.
Due to her young age, Sandra was considered endangered, and the community quickly mobilized to help locate her. The police, along with concerned residents, actively searched the area throughout the night.
A Facebook post by Peoria Police AZ stated, "UPDATE – Sandra has been located and is safe. Thank you for your assistance." The update was met with relief and gratitude by many who had been following the situation closely.
Desiree Komar McDonald responded to the update with, “Peoria Police AZ amen.” Another resident, Errica Elia, commented earlier, “Is this the helicopter I hear circling this very second???” Dan Haynes replied, “Low and slow for 10 min now easily.” Both expressed their concerns during the search, reflecting the community’s deep involvement.
The police department thanked everyone for their assistance and concern in ensuring Sandra’s safe return.
