Kimberling City, Missouri – Haven Shelton, a 19-year-old woman who went missing on June 11, 2024, has been located safely after a more than two-month search that had her family, friends, and local authorities deeply concerned. Shelton, who is mentally challenged, was last seen wearing jeans and a black camo sweatshirt. She had no phone, no debit or credit card, and no significant amount of cash, which heightened the urgency of the search.
The breakthrough in the case came after a piece of mail delivered to the family’s residence in Kimberling City provided a crucial clue that led to her discovery. This significant detail was shared on the "Bring Haven Home" Facebook page, which Shelton’s family created to keep the community informed about the search efforts. The page, along with the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed on Thursday, August 15, that Haven had been found safe.
The family’s relief was palpable as they expressed their gratitude to all those who helped in locating Haven. Special thanks were directed to Detective Dustin Wells of the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, who dedicated countless hours to the case. The Missouri Missing organization also shared their joy, stating, "We are overjoyed that she has been found and reunited with her family, and we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers as they begin this new chapter together."
The community’s support was instrumental in keeping Haven’s story alive. Numerous individuals shared her flyers and missing person’s posts, contributing to the heightened awareness that eventually led to her being found. The collective efforts of the community, law enforcement, and the family’s determination have brought this challenging chapter to a close, allowing Haven Shelton to return home safely.
