Pineville, South Carolina – James P. Rembert, a 90-year-old resident of Pineville, was found safe after being reported missing on Sunday evening. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office had issued an alert, stating that Mr. Rembert was last seen at approximately 8 PM wearing a brown and black shirt along with red and black plaid pajama pants.
Mr. Rembert, described as a 5’6" Black male weighing around 150 pounds, was last seen on Matilda Circle in Pineville. The community and authorities were deeply concerned for his safety due to his advanced age, and a search was initiated to locate him.
The good news of Mr. Rembert’s safe return was shared by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, which posted an update confirming that he had been found.
Many in the community expressed their relief and gratitude on Facebook upon hearing the news. Debbie Casselman commented, "Thank God, he was a sweet man when I knew him years ago." Betty Dawson-Jenkins shared, "Very thankful he was found!!!" Similarly, Charlie Wayne Smith Sr. added, "Glad he was found, he is a very nice man."
The community is relieved that Mr. Rembert has been safely located and returned home. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has thanked everyone who assisted in the search and for their concern during this time.
