Adam Andrzejewski, the founder and CEO of Open The Books, tragically passed away over the weekend following a sudden medical emergency, his family announced. Andrzejewski, a dedicated advocate for transparency in government spending and a former Illinois gubernatorial candidate, was 55 years old.
Andrzejewski’s impact on government accountability was profound. Through Open The Books, he built the largest private repository of U.S. public-sector spending, dedicated to ensuring that "Every Dime" of taxpayer money was accounted for in real time. His work exposed waste, fraud, and abuse within government agencies, earning him a significant following across various media platforms.
Known for his tireless efforts, Andrzejewski’s writings appeared in major publications such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Forbes. He was also a frequent guest on networks like Fox News and CNN, where he regularly discussed issues of government transparency and fiscal responsibility.
The news of his passing has left many in shock. Ed Dean, a close friend and radio show host, expressed his sorrow on Facebook, saying, "I am literally shedding a few tears right now. Adam was the greatest guest I could have ever had over the last seven years. The audience LOVED HIM. He exposed government waste, fraud, abuse & Fauci. I will miss him."
Other friends and colleagues also shared their condolences online. Erik Natvik commented, "The leader of exposing the government of waste and fraud. How do we not think something smells fishy? Terrible loss to us all, Ed." E.J. Boardley added, "So sorry to read of your friend’s passing, Ed. Praying for his family and friends in the coming days."
Andrzejewski was not just a public figure but a beloved father and husband. He leaves behind three daughters and his wife, who are now mourning his unexpected loss. Cheryl Fraven Swanson paid tribute to him, stating, "RIP to a true great Conservative Patriot Adam Andrzejewski. You will be so missed."
Adam Andrzejewski’s legacy as a champion of transparency and a fighter for America’s founding principles will continue to inspire many. Funeral arrangements and an official obituary are expected to be released by his family in the coming days. The community and his many followers are rallying in support of his family during this difficult time.
I found out about Adam‘s death via Jan Jeffcoat on the national desk. I am grieving his loss even though I never knew him except through the news. I loved his honesty, humility, determination and his smile. He just seemed to be a reallygreat guy. Will miss him for a long time.
“Eternal rest grant unto him, oh Lord and let the perpetual light shine upon him may his soul rest in peace amen.”
His wife and daughters are in my prayers. ✝️✝️✝️
