Albuquerque Community Mourns Loss of Officer Bianca Quintana After Tragic Collision on Coors and Chapulin Road

Albuquerque, New Mexico – The Albuquerque community is grieving the tragic loss of Officer Bianca Quintana, who was struck and killed in a vehicle collision early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred near the intersection of Coors and Chapulin Road SW, just before 1 a.m., as Officer Quintana was walking in the area while off duty. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Officer Quintana, who began her law enforcement career with the Los Lunas Police Department in 2021, had successfully graduated from the Central New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy in 2020. Her dedication and service were well recognized within both the Albuquerque Police Department and the community she served.

In a statement, Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina expressed profound sorrow, stating, “This is a devastating loss for the Albuquerque Police Department and particularly for the family and friends of Officer Bianca Quintana.” He added that the entire APD community extends heartfelt sympathies to Officer Quintana’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
