Scottsboro, Alabama – Alyssa Morgan Hurley, a beloved young woman from Scottsboro, Alabama, tragically passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the age of 20. Her sudden death has left her family, friends, and the entire Scottsboro community in deep mourning. Alyssa was known for her infectious spirit, kindness, and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Born on March 12, 2004, in Scottsboro, Alyssa grew up in a loving family environment. She graduated from Scottsboro High School in 2022, where she was a standout student and an active participant in various school activities, including the cheerleading squad. Her leadership, enthusiasm, and dedication earned her the admiration of her peers and teachers.

Alyssa’s passing has elicited an outpouring of grief and condolences on social media. Many people have shared their thoughts and prayers on Facebook, reflecting the widespread impact she had on those around her.

Jessica Wooten expressed, "Prayers," while Sherry Knight echoed the sentiment with a heartfelt "Prayers!!" Sandra Lewis Stein and Marlene Gilliam McBride both offered their prayers for the family, as did Clara Vines, who added, "So many prayers for your family."

Daniel Wilson, a close friend, shared, "Praying for the family and she was a good and wonderful friend; she will be missed a lot." Linda G. Alyssa’s funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Scottsboro Funeral Home, with Bishop Matt Beaty officiating. She was laid to rest in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The services were a testament to the love and respect she garnered in her short life.
