Auburn Resident Alicia Farr Tragically Dies in Car Accident After Suffering Stroke; Community Rallies to Support Funeral Expenses

Auburn, NY – The community of Auburn is mourning the loss of Alicia Farr, who tragically passed away following a car accident on August 25th, 2024. Alicia, a beloved mother and grandmother, suffered a stroke while driving, causing her to lose consciousness and crash into a tree on Fuller Road. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at Upstate Hospital at 12:55 p.m., leaving her family and friends devastated.

Alicia Farr was known for her vibrant personality, bringing laughter and joy to every room she entered. She leaves behind four children—Mathew, Erica, Emily, and Brandon—and six grandchildren. Her sudden passing has left a void in the lives of those who loved her.

In response to this tragedy, a fundraiser has been organized by her daughter, Erica Helmick, to help cover Alicia’s funeral expenses. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $140 out of a $5,000 goal, with donations from several community members, including Antoinette Farr and Linda Brinkman.

On Facebook, friends and family have shared their condolences and memories of Alicia. Haley Stone expressed her sorrow, writing, "Alicia Farr, may you rest peacefully. I was so saddened to hear this when I woke up this morning. Reggie Townsend is now holding you in his arms." Colleen King added, "She is with both loves of her life watching over her babies… let’s pray for them through these hard times."

The outpouring of support and love from the community reflects the impact Alicia had on those around her. The family is deeply grateful for the donations and the kind words shared during this difficult time.

If you would like to contribute to the funeral expenses, donations can be made through the fundraiser organized by Erica Helmick.
