Avon, MA – The Avon Police Department is actively investigating the disappearance of 62-year-old Robert Monteiro, who was reported missing on Sunday, August 18th. Monteiro, who suffers from possible early-onset dementia, left a residence in Avon during a party without notifying any family members and has not been heard from since.

Monteiro, who is unfamiliar with the Avon area, usually resides in Maine and occasionally visits family in Dorchester. He was last seen heading towards Stoughton. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a dark blue baseball hat, a black t-shirt with the words “Embrace Boston” on the front, blue jeans, and black sneakers.

The Avon Police are urging residents in the vicinity of West High St. and Page St. to review any camera footage they might have recorded around 4:09 p.m. on the day of his disappearance. If anyone sees or has seen Monteiro, or someone matching his description, they are asked to contact the Avon Police Department immediately at 508.583.6677.
