Beloved Ada East Central University Graduates Carley Tatum and Clayton Solomon Tragically Die in Car Accident in Holdenville, Oklahoma

Carley Tatum, Holdenville, Oklahoma – Ada East Central University graduates Carley Tatum and Clayton Solomon tragically passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in a devastating car accident. The incident has left their family, friends, and the university community in deep mourning.

Carley Ann Tatum was born on July 18, 2001, in Ada, Oklahoma, and grew up in Holdenville. She excelled both academically and athletically, earning a spot in Holdenville High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Carley’s academic journey continued at Northern Oklahoma College on a basketball scholarship, where she completed her Associate’s Degree in just one year. She then transferred to East Central University to pursue a bachelor’s degree and was later accepted into Oklahoma University’s prestigious Dental Hygiene program, set to graduate in May 2025.

Carley’s life was characterized by her dedication, compassion, and the positive impact she had on those around her. She was deeply involved in her community and remembered for her kindness and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Clayton Solomon, also an Ada East Central University graduate, was known for his academic achievements and positive energy. Although details about his life are less publicized, Clayton was a beloved member of his community and is deeply missed by those who knew him.

Carley is survived by her parents, sister, brother-in-law, grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, uncle, and cousin.

A visitation for Carley Tatum was held on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Holdenville, officiated by Pastor Rob Lindley and Pastor James Poulain.

The deaths of Carley and Clayton have profoundly impacted their communities, reminding everyone of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing each moment. Their stories of dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to excellence continue to inspire those who knew them.
