Beloved Animal Advocate Kimberly Ann Goodson Passes Away, Sparking Community Mourning in Loudon County

Loudon County, Tennessee – The community is mourning the loss of Kimberly Ann Goodson, a dedicated animal advocate and founder of Loudon County Friends of Animals (LCFOA), who passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 67. Kimberly, affectionately known as Kimmey, was renowned for her tireless efforts in animal rescue and her profound impact on the community.

Kimberly’s legacy in animal welfare is extensive, having rescued thousands of cats over fourteen years with the help of devoted volunteers. Her dedication to animal rights was unwavering, and her passion for helping animals was evident to all who knew her.

Following her passing, the organization she founded will be transitioning from Loudon County Friends of Animals to East Tennessee Friends of Animals (ETNFOA). This change, supported by her husband, Steve Goodson, aims to continue Kimberly’s mission with the same dedication and compassion.

Several members of the community expressed their grief and admiration for Kimberly on Facebook. Karen A. Michniacki remembered her as "an AWESOME neighbor" and a friend, highlighting her love for animals. Jennifer Hinson shared her condolences, stating, "Chloe & my family are so sorry to hear this, we are so grateful she brought us together." Mildred Burke, president of Advocates for Pets of Loudon County, acknowledged Kimmey’s impact, saying, "She truly will be missed."

Mark Jenkins extended his sympathies with "Prayers for this family sorry for your loss," and Kl Young added, "My condolences to her family and friends she was a great lady." Other community members echoed similar sentiments, reflecting on Kimmey’s kindness, dedication, and the significant difference she made in the lives of many.

Kimberly Ann Goodson’s life was a testament to compassion, service, and love for animals. Her contributions to animal welfare and her community will not be forgotten, as her legacy continues through the East Tennessee Friends of Animals.
