Beloved Mechanic Mick Parrish Passes Away, Leaving Community in Mourning

Mick Parrish, a well-respected and cherished mechanic, passed away on the morning of August 14, 2024. Mick’s passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him, particularly within the community that he served for nearly two decades.

Mick joined the team as a mechanic when the workshop first opened its doors in 2006, quickly becoming a vital member due to his skill, dedication, and the infectious joy he brought to his work. Over the years, Mick became not just a colleague but a dear friend to many, known for his laughter and the camaraderie he fostered among his peers. His presence at race meetings, where he served as the number one mechanic, was a source of support and encouragement for the entire team.

The community’s outpouring of grief and fond memories on social media speaks volumes about the impact Mick had on those around him. Owen Cherrell, reflecting on the loss, shared, "We are so sad to hear that Mick Parrish sadly passed away this morning. We are humbled to have spent some quality time with Mick on Saturday and for him to reminisce about having worked as a mechanic for us from the day of opening in 2006 and the laughs we had as a little team together. Thank you also for all the great times we spent together at race meetings being my number 1 mechanic! We are going to miss you dearly Mick."

Others echoed this sentiment, with Helen Bennett calling him a "lovely man" and Brian Pickering expressing his sorrow, stating, "SO SAD, GREAT CHAP..R I P." Dave Lewis extended his condolences to Mick’s family and friends, saying, "Sad news of the loss of such a lovely special person, condolences to Jill and family and many friends."
