Spanish Fork, Utah – The community is mourning the loss of Eliseo Jacob Alama, a beloved 44-year-old resident who passed away on August 17, 2024, due to complications from Cardiopulmonary Disease. His family, friends, and loved ones are struggling to come to terms with his passing, particularly as they face the unexpected expenses associated with his funeral.

Jacob, as he was fondly known, spent his last days in the Intensive Care Unit, where the medical team worked tirelessly to save him. Despite their best efforts, Jacob’s body could no longer endure the strain. His passing has left a profound void among those who knew him, especially given his reputation for spreading laughter and joy through his humorous impressions.

In the wake of this tragic loss, Jacob’s family has turned to the community for support. A fundraiser, organized by Nicholas Valdez, has been set up to help cover the costs of Jacob’s funeral. As of today, $170 has been raised out of a $4,000 goal. The family is seeking any donations to help give Jacob the memorial service he deserves, allowing them to honor his memory and say their final goodbyes.

Nicholas Valdez, who is leading the fundraising efforts, shared his grief on social media, expressing the difficulty of accepting Jacob’s passing. "It is difficult for us to comprehend that this day has come upon us, especially considering Jacob’s loving and caring nature," Nicholas wrote. "He demonstrated great determination in overcoming challenges and achieving sobriety because he knew he could do it, even when no one else did!"

Many others have also taken to Facebook to share their condolences and memories of Jacob. Howard Mendoza posted, "Love you little brother…really going to miss you, Jacob, aka Sonic, one of my little brothers who I love with all my heart." Another user, Isacc Mendoza, expressed disbelief, saying, "Dang cuzzin hard to believe you’re gone… Rest in Peace, you will be truly missed."

The family is still finalizing the arrangements for Jacob’s memorial service and will announce the details soon. They have expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support during this challenging time and hope to see many of Jacob’s friends and loved ones at the service.

As the family navigates this painful period, they are asking for the community’s continued understanding and assistance. Those wishing to contribute to Jacob’s funeral expenses can do so through the fundraiser organized by Nicholas Valdez.

The loss of Jacob Alama is deeply felt by all who knew him, and the community’s support will be essential in helping his family honor his life and legacy.
