Big Horn County, Montana – The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office has reported that Kayla Not Afraid, a Native American woman, was officially declared missing on August 21, 2024. Kayla, who stands approximately 5’07" tall and weighs 170 lbs, was last seen on August 14, 2024, at the Loves Convenience Store in Hardin. Authorities have stated that it is currently unknown what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information on Kayla’s whereabouts to contact them at (406) 665-9780.
As the search for Kayla continues, the community has taken to social media to express their concern and hope for her safe return. Linda Gould commented, "Pray she is found safe and returned home safe in Jesus Mighty Name Amen." Deneen NotAfraid shared, "I saw her about a week ago walking towards the theater passing the liquor store. She was alone. She was wearing like a creamed colored dress with some designs on them and looked like black combat-looking boots. And had like a bag or backpack on her shoulder."
Others, like Tiffany Smith, expressed their worries and prayers, saying, "Hope she’s found sending prayers," while Jewelz Jongary OldElk mentioned, "She got ahold of the family I thought." To which Alicia Stewart replied, "Jewelz Jongary OldElk they want her to call to make sure it’s her."
