Salford, Manchester – A body has been discovered in the search for 45-year-old Tomasz Swietek, who went missing after leaving Salford Royal Hospital on August 1. Greater Manchester Police announced the tragic development on Saturday, August 10, 2024. While formal identification is still pending, the family of Mr. Swietek has been informed and is currently being supported by specially trained officers.
Tomasz was last seen leaving Salford Royal Hospital at around 4:15 p.m. on August 1. CCTV footage later captured him walking down Centenary Way in Eccles at approximately 6 p.m. that evening. The police had previously indicated that he was believed to have been near the Lighthouse Church around 9:55 p.m. on the same night.
The search for Tomasz involved a significant operation, with officers sharing appeals and CCTV footage to the public in hopes of locating him. Sadly, the efforts culminated in the discovery of a body earlier on Saturday.
