Boston Community Mourns the Loss of Karina Nova, Fundraiser Launched to Support Funeral Expenses

Karina Nova, a beloved member of the Boston community, passed away on August 18th, 2024, at the young age of 26. Karina, a 2021 graduate of Boston University with a degree in Sociology, was known for her dedication to helping others, a passion she carried into her career at MENTOR National. Her sudden passing has left her family and friends heartbroken.

In the wake of this tragic loss, Karina’s brother, Francis R Nova Dume, along with Fausto Cruz, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her funeral expenses. The campaign, created just yesterday, has already raised $850 out of a $10,000 goal, with contributions from seven donors.

Desiree Robertson, a friend and colleague of Karina, shared her thoughts on Facebook, saying, "Please consider helping my friend and colleague’s family. Karina was a gift to us all." This sentiment is echoed by many who knew her and are coming together to support the family during this difficult time.

The community’s response reflects the impact Karina had on those around her, and the fundraiser is a testament to the love and respect she garnered. As the campaign continues, her family is grateful for any support received to help cover the unexpected funeral expenses.

Donations to the GoFundMe have been made by individuals such as Wilfredo Cepeda, who contributed $100, and Mary Magliozzi, who donated $300. The outpouring of support, both financial and emotional, highlights the strong community ties and the collective effort to honor Karina’s memory.

Karina’s passing is a profound loss for her family, friends, and the many lives she touched through her work and compassion.
