Bridgeport, Connecticut – The community is in shock following the tragic death of Brandaja Azjree Florence Winston, a 28-year-old resident of Bridgeport, who was killed in a shooting early Saturday morning. The incident occurred on Stratford Avenue, near the intersection with Carroll Avenue, at approximately 2:25 a.m.
Brandaja Winston was found lying on Stratford Avenue after the city’s gunfire detection system, ShotSpotter, alerted police to the scene. Despite the quick response of medics, Winston was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 30-year-old man, also from Bridgeport, was injured in the same shooting and later arrived at the hospital in critical condition. The circumstances of the shooting remain unclear, and the Bridgeport Police Department is actively investigating the case. The identities of other individuals involved have not been released.
The police are appealing to the public for information that could help solve this case and bring justice for Brandaja Winston.
