Tarago, NSW – Brooke Sorlie, 21, and Charlie Quinn, 18, have been identified as the victims of a tragic car accident that occurred in Tarago, New South Wales. The fatal crash took place at the intersection of Bungendore and Collector roads on Sunday.
The vehicle, which Sorlie and Quinn were passengers in, veered off the road, rolled over, and ended up on its roof. Authorities reported that both Sorlie and Quinn, along with a third person aged 20, were trapped inside the wreckage and did not survive. The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man, managed to escape with minor injuries and has not faced any charges, according to the latest update from NSW Police.
The accident has left the community in shock, with friends and family mourning the loss of Sorlie and Quinn. Tributes have poured in, describing Sorlie as a kind-hearted individual with a warm smile and Quinn as a vibrant young woman whose life was cut short.
Inger H Sørlie expressed her grief on Facebook, posting, "❤️❤️❤️." Another friend, Sharilea Hitchcock, reminisced about memories of Brooke, saying, "Brooke riding popstar came up in my memories today of three years ago." Byron O’Sullivan also shared his sorrow, stating, "Fly high Brooke Aaron Charlie, 3 young souls taken too soon.. Rip."
Amidst the mourning, some have raised concerns about the road conditions in the area, calling for improvements to prevent future tragedies. The police have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers, and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.
