Cambridge House Grammar School Mourns the Loss of Beloved Student Andrew Logan in Ballymena

Ballymena, Northern Ireland – The Cambridge House Grammar School community is in deep mourning following the passing of 18-year-old Andrew Logan, a well-loved and respected student who died after a long illness. Andrew, a Year 14 student, was cherished by both staff and peers, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.

In a heartfelt statement, the school expressed its profound grief: “Andrew was a highly well-liked and respected young man by both staff members and peers. The entire school community extends its sincere condolences to Andrew’s family and friends, who will be in our prayers and thoughts during this extremely trying time.”

Andrew’s life will be honored in a service of thanksgiving on Tuesday, August 20, at the Second Broughshane Presbyterian Church, followed by burial in the Second Broughshane New Cemetery. The funeral notice from S & J Irvine Funeral Directors highlighted the family’s request for privacy and invited donations to The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity or Young Lives vs. Cancer in lieu of flowers.

The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming. Friends, family, and community members have taken to social media to share their condolences and memories of Andrew. Janice Connor, a former Sunday school teacher of Andrew, wrote, “So so sad, lovely tribute to a lovely young man… praying for strength for his dear Mummy Ruth Logan who has been by his side 100%.” Ruth Bodi echoed the sentiments of many, commenting, “So sad, condolences to the young man’s family.”

Andrew’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew him. His legacy of kindness and strength during his illness will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
