Carbondale Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating Missing 20-Year-Old Mandy E. Pope, Last Seen in Marion, Illinois

Carbondale, Illinois – The Carbondale Police Department is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating 20-year-old Mandy E. Pope, who has been missing since August 13, 2024. Mandy, a resident of Carbondale, was last seen around 5:00 p.m., possibly heading towards Marion, Illinois. She is described as a 4’11” tall white female, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, Mandy was wearing a black dress.

Mandy suffers from a condition that places her at heightened risk, adding urgency to the efforts to find her. The Carbondale Police Department has issued a plea for anyone with information about Mandy’s whereabouts to come forward. They can be reached at (618) 549-2121 or through the anonymous tip lines provided by the Carbondale/SIU Crime Stoppers and the Murphysboro/Jackson County Crime Stoppers.

Community members have expressed their concern on social media. Patty Prather, who knows Mandy, commented, “I know Mandy. I haven’t seen her. She is a good person. I wish we could quit having these episodes of her missing. I worry for her.” The local community and authorities are both hoping for her safe return.
