Carmel, NY – The community is rallying in support of the family of Bekim Gjonbalaj, a 28-year-old resident of Carmel, New York, who has been missing for the past five days. Bekim was last seen in New York City, wearing a black hoodie, black shorts, black sneakers, and carrying a small drawstring backpack.
Bekim’s disappearance has prompted an outpouring of concern on social media, where friends and community members are sharing his details in hopes of finding him.
Izzy Hoxha, a friend of the family, posted on Facebook, urging anyone with information to contact the authorities. "A friend of the family missing for past 5 days. Lives in Carmel NY works in NYC. Bekim Gjonbalaj dob 09/05/1995. Last seen wearing Black hoodie, blk shorts, blk sneakers and a small drawstring backpack. If you have any info, please contact me or your local Police Dept. Thank you," Izzy wrote.
The community has shown overwhelming support, with many offering prayers for Bekim’s safe return. Simon Qafa posted, "I’m praying for his safe return," while Mersada Meka added, "May Allah find him alive and healthy for his family."
The urgency of the situation is compounded by the fact that Bekim’s mother passed away just a year ago. Sadri Lamaj highlighted this, writing, "Let’s pray he is alive; his mother passed away a year ago."
