Catherlene Goodman Pittman, 66, Missing from Surry, Virginia; Abduction Suspected as Authorities Issue Critical Alert

Surry, Virginia – Authorities in Virginia have issued a critically missing adult alert for 66-year-old Catherlene Goodman Pittman, who was last seen in the early hours of August 18, 2024. According to the Surry County Sheriff’s Office, Pittman was last spotted around 3:50 a.m. on Hog Island Road in Surry, Virginia. Her current whereabouts are unknown, and her disappearance has prompted an urgent response due to the credible threat posed to her health and safety.

Pittman is described as a Black female, 4’11" in height, weighing 140 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair. She is believed to have been abducted and is in danger. Authorities believe she may be with Franklin Merrell Nichols, a 53-year-old White male, who was last seen possibly wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. The two are thought to be traveling in a white Toyota Camry with California plates, though the registration number is currently unknown.

The Virginia State Police and Surry County Sheriff’s Office are actively seeking information on their whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Surry County Sheriff’s Office’s 24/7 dispatch line at 757-294-5264.
