Cedar City Community Mourns the Loss of Malia Vasi, Funeral Services Set to Honor Her Memory

Cedar City, UT – The Cedar City community is mourning the loss of Malia Vasi, a beloved individual whose warm spirit and kindness deeply touched everyone who knew her. Malia passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy that will be remembered by her family and friends.

Funeral services for Malia Vasi will be held at the Canyon View Stake Center. The first viewing is scheduled for Friday, August 23rd, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by another viewing on Saturday, August 24th, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m., with the interment taking place afterward at the Cedar City Cemetery.

The outpouring of love and support from the community has been overwhelming, with many taking to social media to share their condolences and memories of Malia. Afa Vasi, a close family member, expressed heartfelt gratitude on Facebook, saying, “Thank you everyone for all the kind words, calls, texts, emails, food, Venmo, and all the flowers. I am so proud hearing all the messages about our sweet girl. Didn’t realize how much she was loved and how sweet she was to most people. We’re humbled and honored that she was ours. Thank you again for loving our angel.”

Other messages of love and support have been shared by friends and family. Fuaiapi Sime posted, “‘Ofa atu,” while Tevita Taufa shared, “Ofa Atu Kimoutolu!” Scatt Ifopo also offered his prayers, writing, “Toko, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. May His loving arms embrace you with love and comfort. Ofa atu.”

As the community prepares to say their final goodbyes, the family is deeply appreciative of the overwhelming support and finds solace in the shared tributes to their beloved Malia. Her beautiful spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her.
