Cedartown Community Mourns the Loss of Olin L. Gammage, III, Fondly Known as "Big O"

Cedartown, Georgia – The community of Cedartown is grieving the loss of Mr. Olin L. Gammage, III, affectionately known as "Big O," who passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the age of 58. Born on October 14, 1965, in Cedartown, Big O was a beloved figure in his hometown, known for his warm personality and dedication to his community.

Cedartown First Methodist Church expressed its deepest condolences to Big O’s family, stating, "We express our Christian love and sympathy to the family of Mr. Olin L. Gammage, III of Cedartown. May God’s comfort, strength, and courage be greatly experienced by Big O’s family and friends."

The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming, with many taking to social media to share their memories and offer prayers. Michelle Richards posted, "Prayers for the family. He will be missed," while Pam Bass echoed the sentiment, saying, "Praying for this sweet family!" Dale Freeman remembered Big O as "a fine man, loved by so many!" These messages reflect the profound impact Big O had on those around him.

A graveside service for Big O will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the family lot of Northview Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to a visitation on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where they can share their memories and offer their condolences.

Big O’s legacy as a cherished member of the Cedartown community will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The community continues to rally around his family during this difficult time, offering prayers and support as they navigate their grief.
