Las Mesa, New Mexico – The community mourns the loss of Celia Hernandez, a beloved 77-year-old resident, who passed away on August 12, 2024. Born on February 7, 1947, to Amalia and Marcos Roman in Las Mesa, Celia was a woman deeply committed to her faith, family, and community.
Celia Hernandez was known not only for her outward beauty but also for her inner grace and spirituality. A devout Christian, she was recognized as a prayer warrior, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her dedication to her church, where she found joy in praise and worship, was a cornerstone of her life. In addition to her religious devotion, Celia was an ardent supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, a passion that she shared with many.
Her passing leaves behind her children: Yolanda Roman, Michelle Ramirez (Daniel), Christina Hernandez, Stephanie Moreno, and Israel Hernandez. Celia is also survived by her siblings Cynthia Moreno and Gloria Moreno. Her granddaughter Audrey Lopez, along with her parents, Amalia and Marcos Roman, preceded her in death.
A memorial service to honor Celia Hernandez’s life will be held at Heart for the World Church, located at 1605 S Valley Drive, on Thursday, August 22, 2024. The visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by a celebration of her life at 3:30 p.m. In accordance with her wishes, Celia will be cremated, and the burial will take place at a later date.
