Charlottesville, Virginia – The Charlottesville Police Department is urgently seeking the public’s help in locating 17-year-old Violet Lopez-Garcia, who has been missing since August 3, 2024. Violet was last seen at a party in Albemarle County, accompanied by a friend. Authorities believe she is currently staying with friends in the Charlottesville/Albemarle area, and while there is no immediate indication that she is in danger, her family and the police are deeply concerned about her whereabouts.
Violet Lopez-Garcia is described as a light-skinned Hispanic female, standing approximately 5’1” tall, and weighing around 110 lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Her family has been in contact with her, but her exact location remains unknown. The police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective J. Houchens at (434) 970-3676.
The situation has garnered attention and concern from the community, with many sharing their thoughts and prayers on social media. Susana Corona commented, "Hispanic families tend to hide a lot of bad things from the world. That child probably ran away for a reason. You should find her and talk to her and try to find out why she ran (speaking from experience), don’t just drag her back." Others, like Myra Cook and Ruby Willingham, have expressed their support with simple but heartfelt messages like "prayers sent" and "Prayers and shared from Winchester, Virginia."
The Charlottesville Police Department urges anyone with information about Violet’s whereabouts to come forward, emphasizing the importance of ensuring her safety and well-being. The community continues to rally around the family, hoping for Violet’s safe return.
