Cheryl’s passing occurred at the Calvary Oaklands Park Residential Aged Care facility after a rapid decline in her health, shortly following her 75th birthday.
Cheryl Mounsey was a significant figure in the Walkerville Softball Club, contributing in various capacities, including serving on committees and working as a scorer. Her dedication to the club was not only seen in her official roles but also in her unwavering support and involvement in the community. Cheryl’s commitment played a pivotal role in fostering the strong, close-knit community that the Walkerville Softball Club is known for today.
Cheryl’s daughter, Linda, shared a heartfelt tribute to her mother, highlighting the final moments of Cheryl’s life. "Friends and family, I’m writing this post to celebrate the life of mum Cheryl Mounsey who passed away on August 22, 2024, at Calvary Oaklands Park Residential Aged Care facility. After a rapid decline in the last few weeks following her 75th birthday, she spent last Friday and Saturday in Flinders ED before being discharged to the comfort of her familiar surroundings with the people that had cared for her around the clock for the past two years. Finally, she is resting in peace and comfort in the arms of her late husband Norm."
The funeral service for Cheryl Mounsey will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Florey Chapel in Centennial Park, beginning at 2:30 PM.
