Cheshire Police Appeal for Help as Vulnerable Patricia Simpson Goes Missing from Macclesfield Hospital

Macclesfield, Cheshire – Patricia Simpson, a 64-year-old woman from Burnley, has gone missing from Macclesfield Hospital, prompting an urgent appeal from Cheshire Police. Patricia, who is described as extremely vulnerable and in a confused state, was last seen shortly before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She is believed to be on foot and has no access to a vehicle.

Patricia is described as a white woman, 5ft 6ins tall, with a slim build and ginger hair styled in a ponytail. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a red knitted jumper, a black coat, blue jeans, and black trainers, and was carrying a brown leather handbag. She is known to frequent the Manchester and Burnley areas.

Inspector Dan Welch of Cheshire Police expressed grave concern for Patricia’s welfare, urging the public to assist in locating her. "We are extremely concerned for her welfare and would urge anyone who sees her to get in touch," he stated.

The situation has sparked significant concern on social media, with many expressing their hopes for Patricia’s safe return. Chelsea Gante commented, "It’s so very concerning when an older person or someone with a disability goes missing as it’s less likely they’ll have a phone to make contact with someone and possibly may have memory issues and be extremely frightened and vulnerable."

Zara Bexon, who had spoken to Patricia earlier in the day at the hospital, shared, "Hope she is found safe and well. I was talking to her in A&E this afternoon, she seems so lovely."

Another user, Mark Preston, urged the community to stay vigilant, stating, "I think we all need to keep an eye open for her and get her back safely."

Patricia’s disappearance has also sparked a prayerful response from others like Sheila Rigby, who said, "I pray you go home to your caring family."

Anyone with information regarding Patricia Simpson’s whereabouts is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency, quoting IML 1894229.
