Christopher Flood, Respected Resident of Coolock, Dublin, Passes Away at Age 61

Coolock, Dublin – The community mourns the loss of Christopher “Christy” Flood, who passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Hamilton Park Nursing Home. Christy was a well-respected member of the community, and his passing has left a significant void in the hearts of many.

Christy was the beloved father of David and Chris, and his loss is deeply felt by his mother, Sadie, as well as his sisters Maria, Alison, Pamela, and Sarah. The family, including his brothers Kenneth and Paul, and numerous other relatives, are grieving this profound loss. Christy’s siblings David and Celine, who preceded him in death, are also remembered fondly during this time of mourning.

The Irish Defence Forces Veterans Association shared their sorrow on social media, expressing their condolences to Christy’s family and friends. The post described Christy as a respected member of the Engineer Corp, with many offering prayers in his honor.

On Facebook, numerous friends and acquaintances paid tribute to Christy. Peter Lanigan commented, “Rest in Peace,” while others like Dave Darcy, James Goulding, and John Henvey echoed similar sentiments. Steve Newman honored Christy as a “Comrade,” reflecting the deep bonds formed during their service together.

Additional messages from friends and family included expressions such as “May He Rest in Peace” from Michael Kelly and Helen Lawlor, and “Rest in Peace Christy” from David Cheevers, showing the widespread impact Christy had on those who knew him.

Christy Flood’s passing marks the end of a life filled with love, respect, and deep connections within the Coolock community. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
