Holiday, FL — Philip Edward Beals, a revered Cold War submarine veteran and resident of Holiday, Florida, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, in Frisco, Texas, at the age of 87. His passing has deeply saddened his family, friends, and the many individuals who had the honor of knowing him.

Philip Beals, affectionately known as Phil, served his country with distinction. He qualified in submarines on the USS Bang (SS-385) in 1956 and was ranked as a CS3(SS) when he left the Navy. He was also a dedicated member of the Tang Base of the United States Submarine Veterans, Inc. (USSVI), a community that now mourns the loss of a cherished shipmate.
