Colorado Dog Breeder Paul Peavy Found Dead in Idaho Springs, 10 Missing Doberman Puppies May Hold Crucial Clues

Idaho Springs, Colorado – The tragic death of 57-year-old Paul Peavy, a long-time resident and well-known Doberman breeder in Idaho Springs, has sent shockwaves through the community. Peavy, who had been reported missing on August 21, was found dead on Saturday morning in the 1000 block of Two Brothers Road near Idaho Springs. The discovery was made by a group of concerned neighbors and friends who had been searching for him.

Peavy was last heard from on the night of August 19, and his sudden disappearance prompted an immediate investigation. Authorities quickly became involved, leading to the grim discovery of his body just days later. Peavy was a dedicated breeder of Doberman dogs and also trained them for therapy work. He was well-liked in the community, known for his kindness and his deep love for his dogs.

In a critical twist to the ongoing investigation, the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office has revealed that 10 of Peavy’s Doberman puppies are missing from his property. These puppies, all microchipped, could be key in solving the mystery surrounding Peavy’s death. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have purchased a Doberman puppy in central Colorado since August 20 to come forward, as the puppies may have been sold through social media or other channels.

Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who purchased puppies from Peavy’s business, Elite European Dobermans, since June. This information could help authorities determine how many puppies are still unaccounted for and whether their disappearance is linked to Peavy’s death.

The Sheriff’s Office is appealing to the public for assistance in locating these missing puppies, emphasizing that their recovery could provide crucial clues in the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office at 303-679-2393 or via email at admin@clearcreeksheriff.us. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Sheriff’s Office website.

As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of a beloved resident while authorities work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.
