Community in Josephine County Urgently Searching for Missing 13-Year-Old Van Ellis Last Seen in Selma

Selma, Oregon – The community is on high alert as 13-year-old Van Ellis has been reported missing after being last seen on August 8th, 2024. According to the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Van was last spotted in the parking lot of Ray’s Food Place in Selma during the evening hours. The young boy was captured on surveillance footage wearing a blue ball cap, gray shirt, gray shorts, and mismatched socks—one black and one gray. He was also seen wearing brown Romeo shoes.

The Sheriff’s Office has classified Van as a runaway/missing juvenile after he was reported missing by his mother. The search efforts have been intensified, and the community, especially those in the Selma and Kerby areas, are urged to keep an eye out for him.

Tom Kennedy, a concerned individual, commented on social media, suggesting a potential location for Van, “I would check the Fairgrounds; he probably took off with his buddy’s.”

The Josephine County Missing Person Project also took to social media, asking the community to be vigilant and report any sightings of Van. They reiterated the importance of checking specific areas, emphasizing the need for immediate action.

The case number associated with this missing person report is 24-18215. The collective hope is that Van is found safe and reunited with his family as soon as possible.
