Community in Nova Scotia Rallies to Find Missing 86-Year-Old Stephen Sober in South Side River Denys

Stephen Sober, an 86-year-old resident of South Side River Denys in Nova Scotia, has been reported missing, and the community is deeply concerned. Sober was last seen on August 14, 2024, at approximately 10 a.m. He left a residence on Southside Road on foot, wearing a blue sweater, blue jeans, and rubber boots.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Inverness County District has issued an appeal for public assistance in locating Sober. He is described as being 6 feet tall, weighing 165 lbs, with white hair and green eyes. The RCMP emphasized the significant emotional and psychological impact that a missing person case has on both the individual and their loved ones. They have urged the public to spread the word about Sober’s disappearance respectfully through social media.

The RCMP is asking anyone with information regarding Stephen Sober’s whereabouts to contact the Inverness County District RCMP at 902-625-2220. Those who wish to remain anonymous can provide tips through Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or using the P3 Tips app.
