Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand – The community and family of Ngakau Pou-Clark are desperately seeking assistance after losing contact with her and her child, Manawa, over six weeks ago. The situation has become increasingly concerning as Ngakau, who is seven weeks away from giving birth, has not attended any hospital appointments, prompting fears for her and her child’s safety.
Ngakau’s mother, Ruth Pou, has made an emotional appeal on social media, expressing deep concern over the lack of communication from her daughter, who usually keeps in regular contact. "Last resort. Needing your help. Haven’t heard from my daughter Ngakau Pou-Clark and my moko Manawa in over six weeks, no communication at all," Ruth shared on Facebook. "She usually keeps in contact. Very worried for her safety and our moko; she is seven weeks from having her next baby and hasn’t been to any appointments at the hospital. If you see her or know her whereabouts, please pm me."
The family’s distress has mobilized the local community and friends, who have been sharing the plea widely on social media, hoping to locate Ngakau and ensure her safety. Concerned relatives and friends have left heartfelt messages on Facebook, urging Ngakau to reach out.
"Hope she makes contact very soon," Rosalie Goodin commented, reflecting the shared anxiety within the community.
Another family member, Ripeka Marshall, sent a message to Ngakau, "Hay Ngakau East cuz, reach out if you’re in Auckland area, indoors are open. Love to you and baby girl."
The New Zealand Missing Persons organization has also highlighted the case, providing details and encouraging anyone with information to contact the authorities or the family. The case file number associated with this situation is 240802/7195.
Ruth Pou’s public plea underscores the urgency of the situation as the days continue to pass without any word from Ngakau. The community remains hopeful but is increasingly desperate for any information that could lead to Ngakau and Manawa being safely found.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 105 or reach out to the family directly at 021 217 7216.
