Waverly, Missouri – The search for Nathan “Nate” Alan Thompson, a 43-year-old Waverly resident, intensifies as authorities and the community work tirelessly to bring him home safely. Nathan Thompson was last seen on Saturday, August 10, 2024, leaving Casey’s General Store in Waverly, Missouri, driving his red Chevrolet Monte Carlo. His disappearance has raised concerns, especially as reports indicate he was experiencing mental health challenges and may be suicidal.
Nathan, a Caucasian male with distinctive tattoos, including a large TCB Skull tattoo on the back of his head and full sleeve tattoos on both arms and his right leg, was last seen wearing a white tank top, tan shorts, and white Nike Shox. He often wore a silver chain necklace. Worryingly, his phone and wallet were left behind at his residence, and his phone was turned off.
Damien-Mindi Gordillo, in a heartfelt Facebook post, expressed the community’s commitment to finding Nathan, writing, "We are working sooo hard in bringing you home Nate Thompson. If anyone has seen his car, or him please please please reach out!!! We do have investigators on the case! Alongside the Highway Patrol, & Lafayette County. We have him out on the NEWS! We have got him on Missouri Missing and so many other HUGE platforms on the internet. We will find you Nate, no matter what it takes."
The Beneath The Surface Search And Recovery Dive Team is scheduled to conduct a sonar search in the Missouri River this Saturday, focusing on the area around the marina in hopes of uncovering any clues about Nathan’s whereabouts.
The community has rallied around this search effort, with multiple people sharing the details on social media platforms to spread awareness. Amanda Priest shared the information in Manhattan, Kansas, while Ronna Christopherson inquired about the status of Nathan’s car, asking, "Is his car missing also? Just wondered if it has been seen anywhere."
Authorities urge anyone with information about Nathan Thompson’s location to contact the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office at 660-259-3622 or the Missouri State Highway Patrol Missing Persons Unit at 573-526-6178. The community remains hopeful as the search continues, driven by the determination to bring Nathan back home safely.
