Community Mourns the Loss of Darron Rose After Tragic Myakka River Accident in Sarasota County

Darron Rose, a resident of Venice, Florida, is being mourned by his community following a tragic boating accident on the Myakka River. Rose, a man in his early 40s, was involved in a collision between a jon boat and a jet ski. He has been missing since the accident occurred, leaving his family and friends in shock and despair.

The accident took place as the Myakka River was expected to crest, with many locals preparing their homes for potential flooding. The search for Darron has been ongoing, with neighbors and emergency responders working tirelessly to locate him. On Wednesday, the neighborhood witnessed a flurry of emergency vehicles heading towards the river, adding to the anxiety and fear felt by all who knew Darron.

Sarah Elizabeth, a local resident, shared her thoughts on Facebook, describing the emotional toll the incident has taken on the community. "Our entire hood has been shaken. I still just do not have the words. We are all feeling the weight of it in the air and hoping for the best," she wrote. She also urged others to pray for Darron’s family and the operators of the jon boat involved in the accident.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Megan described Darron as a dedicated family man who had lived on the river for nearly 20 years. She highlighted his deep connection to the Venice area and his commitment to supporting his extended and growing family, including his 20-year-old daughter, 22-year-old son, 5-year-old son, and 2-year-old grandson, with another grandchild on the way.

The community has come together to support Darron’s family during this difficult time. A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Nicole Gartley to help alleviate the financial burden on the Rose family as they cope with the devastating loss. The river is expected to crest over 10 feet, and the family is already grappling with the fear of further flooding on top of the tragedy they are enduring.

As the search efforts continue, the Venice community remains united in their support for the Rose family, demonstrating the power of collective strength in the face of heartbreak.
