West Union, Iowa – The community of West Union is reeling from the heartbreaking loss of two young lives, Raelyn Schultz and Ximena Navarro, following a tragic accident. Raelyn Schultz, a 9-year-old girl from Alpha, Iowa, passed away after a valiant fight in the ICU.
Raelyn’s father, Darrick Schultz, shared his grief on social media, expressing the profound loss his family feels: "My heart is broken and I am so sorry to inform each and every one of you that our sweet Raelyn has gained her wings and is safe and peaceful up in heaven. We are so lost and heartbroken right now and have no idea how our lives can go on without our sweet sassy girl."
In the wake of this tragedy, the community has come together to support Raelyn’s family. LaCreasha Schultz, a family member, announced on Facebook that donations are being collected at several local businesses, including All Stop in West Union and Alpha Tap. She also mentioned that a Venmo account has been set up for those who wish to contribute.
