Community Mourns the Tragic Death of 2-Year-Old Joseph Daniel Tancreto in East Islip, New York

East Islip, New York – The community is heartbroken as they mourn the tragic loss of Joseph Daniel Tancreto, who passed away on his 2nd birthday, August 16, 2024. The untimely death of this young child has left his family and all who knew him in profound grief.

Joseph was the beloved youngest son of Danny and Nicole Tancreto. Danny, a dedicated Port Authority officer, and Nicole, a compassionate nurse, are known for their unwavering commitment to helping others. Now, they find themselves facing the unimaginable pain of losing their cherished son.

The family, including Joseph’s older brothers, Nicholas and Anthony, is struggling to cope with this devastating loss. The emotional burden is immense, and the family is also facing potential financial challenges during this difficult time. A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by James Botte to help support the Tancreto family as they navigate this heartbreaking period.

The community has rallied around the Tancretos, offering words of condolence and support. Dina Rotondo-Hanebury expressed her sorrow on Facebook, noting the tragedy that has befallen the family. Ivy Breck Ewald simply stated, "Heartbreaking..I’m so sorry," echoing the sentiments of many others. Lalo Ann, Angela Morra Martino, and others have shared similar messages of sympathy, underscoring the widespread impact of Joseph’s passing.

A Funeral Mass in memory of Joseph will be held at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, located at 20 Harrison Avenue, East Islip, New York, on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 10:45 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend the service to honor Joseph’s brief but meaningful life and to support the Tancreto family during this challenging time.

The outpouring of love and support from the community is a testament to the impact Joseph had in his short life. The Tancreto family is deeply appreciative of the kindness shown to them as they mourn the loss of their precious son.
