Community Urges New Efforts to Find Thwana Darrough, Missing Since 1989 in El Dorado, Arkansas

Thwana Darrough, who disappeared at the age of 16 while walking to catch a school bus in El Dorado, Arkansas, has remained missing for over three decades. On January 11, 1989, Thwana was last seen heading to Yocum to board the bus that would take her to El Dorado High School, where she was a student. Despite exhaustive searches and investigations, her whereabouts remain unknown.

Thwana’s disappearance has haunted her mother, who continues to live with the anguish of not knowing what happened to her daughter. Over the years, the case has remained cold, but her family and the community have not given up hope.

A recent post on the "Missing and Unidentified in Union County Arkansas" Facebook page urged the community to continue seeking information that could lead to Thwana’s whereabouts. The post included a poignant message: "If you know something, please say something. It is time to bring Thwana home!"

The post has garnered significant attention, with many people sharing their thoughts and memories of Thwana on social media. One user wrote, "Thwana has been missing for so long, but we haven’t forgotten her. Let’s keep spreading the word until she’s found." Another shared, "Her mother deserves to know what happened. We need to break the silence and bring Thwana back."

Thwana was described as an African-American female with black hair and brown eyes. She stood between 5’5" and 5’8" tall and weighed around 120 to 130 pounds at the time of her disappearance. On that fateful day, she was wearing a white turtleneck sweater, a turquoise shirt, and a white miniskirt. Thwana also had a scar on the underside of her right foot and pierced ears.

The ongoing plea for information highlights the enduring pain and uncertainty faced by Thwana’s family and the El Dorado community. As her 52nd birthday approaches, the push for answers continues, driven by the hope that someone, somewhere, holds the key to solving this decades-old mystery.
