Crownsville Resident Andrew David Frye Dies in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Route 50 in Anne Arundel County

Anne Arundel County, Maryland – Andrew David Frye, a 34-year-old resident of Crownsville, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle crash early Wednesday morning on Route 50. The incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. near Rowe Boulevard.

Frye was riding a 2000 Yamaha motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with a Ford Fiesta driven by Horatio Fitzgerald Easton, 59. According to the Maryland State Police, Easton’s vehicle struck Frye’s motorcycle while attempting to change lanes. Frye was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services. Easton was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for medical evaluation, although impairment is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The accident led to the closure of all eastbound lanes on Route 50, causing significant traffic delays and disruptions, including interruptions to bus services in the Annapolis and Broadneck areas. The road remained closed until approximately 7:40 a.m.

The Maryland State Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Many people took to social media to express their condolences for Frye’s family. Melissa Ann Jeffers posted, "for his family," while Richard Fournier commented, "Ride In Paradise. My condolences to all feeling the loss of this rider." Iain Dorney added, "My condolences go out to his entire family and friends," and Sue Steinbrook shared, "This is so incredibly sad.
