Dale Thomas of Sandy Creek, NY, Passes Away in Motorcycle Accident; Community Mourns Beloved Firefighter and MC Member

Sandy Creek, NY – Dale Thomas, a well-known firefighter and founding member of Fire and Iron Station 1438, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on August 22, 2024. The accident occurred when a dog ran into the road, leading to the fatal crash. His sudden death has left the Sandy Creek community and his many friends deeply saddened.

Dale Thomas was not just a firefighter but a cherished figure in his community. He was recognized for his kindness, support, and dedication to helping those in need. His involvement with Fire and Iron Station 1438, a motorcycle club, further showcased his passion for camaraderie and service.

The news of his passing has sparked an outpouring of grief on social media. Many took to Facebook to express their sorrow and share memories of Dale. Douglas Thomas Jr. wrote, "Today a friend and past Fire Chief of the Sandy Creek Fire Department. Dale Thomas. Also a member of Fire and Iron MC. Today sadly he died in a motorcycle accident when a loose dog ran out in front of him. RIP CHIEF WE HAVE IT FROM HERE." Another friend, Trudy Mansil, shared, "We were just on a ride with him last week. This is so dang sad. RIP."

The heartfelt messages continued with Donnie Jones expressing frustration, saying, "Such a great man and he was taken out by a dog. I hope they hold the owners accountable for their lack of not keeping their dog on a leash!!!" Raymond Lyman Towles Jr. remembered him as "one hell of a nice guy," and Amy Berry Hatch added, "He was a great guy."
