Orlando, Florida – Daniel Philip Terrico, affectionately known as "Carver Dan," passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, after a courageous year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 69 years old. Daniel’s legacy as a master woodworker and beloved member of his community continues to resonate with those who knew him.

Born on November 23, 1954, in Morgantown, West Virginia, Daniel moved with his family to Indian Harbor Beach, Florida, in 1959. This move sparked his lifelong passion for the ocean and marine life. Daniel attended Catholic schools, where he formed friendships that lasted throughout his life.

After graduating from Melbourne Central Catholic in 1973, Daniel began working at Walt Disney World, where he met his wife, Sandie, and together they had two daughters. His remarkable problem-solving skills led him to a distinguished career in Disney’s woodworking shop, where he crafted high-end kitchens and libraries, even catering to Disney executives.

In 1998, Daniel’s passion took him to Vietnam, where he established a factory and designed unique wooden products that became highly popular on QVC, selling over a million pieces during his 22-year tenure.

Even after his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer in May 2023, Daniel’s spirit remained strong. He is survived by his daughters, Lindsey Canales and Michele Sarao, as well as his three grandchildren.

The community has expressed their sorrow and fond memories of Daniel on social media. Michele Sarao shared, "Miss your smile so much already." Erin Porris noted, "Beautiful retelling of his life!" while Sara Keeling remarked, "Dan lived an AMAZING life and loved his family SO much."

Funeral services for Daniel will be held at St. James Catholic Church in downtown Orlando on Thursday, May 23rd, followed by a "Celebration of Life" in Melbourne, FL, a month later.

Daniel Terrico’s extraordinary life and legacy as "Carver Dan" will continue to inspire those who were touched by his creativity, kindness, and unyielding spirit.
