Darlene Rice of Simcoe, Ontario Passes Away Unexpectedly; Fundraiser Launched in Her Memory

Simcoe, Ontario – Darlene Rice, a beloved coworker and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of joy and compassion. Known for her vibrant personality and memorable catchphrases such as "salt and pepper make everything better," Darlene brought laughter and warmth to those who worked with her.

Darlene was deeply passionate about her private in-home senior small dog rescue. Her love for her dogs was evident, as her face would light up whenever she talked about them or shared their pictures. In honor of her life and her dedication to animal welfare, a fundraiser has been organized by Kathy Leighton. The aim is to donate in Darlene’s name to a local dog rescue and end-of-life rehabilitation center.

The fundraiser, which has already raised $210 of its $250 goal, has seen contributions from five donors. Donations range from $30 to $50, with Kathy Leighton herself contributing $50 just 20 minutes ago.

Those who knew Darlene remember her fondly and hope to honor her memory by supporting a cause she cared deeply about. As Kathy Leighton shared, "Fly high, Darlene, and I hope all the dogs that crossed the rainbow bridge before you were there with wagging tails to greet you on the other side. xoxo."

To contribute to the fundraiser and help reach its goal, donations can be made through the fundraiser page.
