Deer Lake, PA Resident Thomas E. Behler Passes Away Peacefully at Age 63

Deer Lake, Pennsylvania – Thomas E. Behler, a beloved resident of Deer Lake, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the age of 63. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments.

Thomas, known affectionately as Tom, was born on July 26, 1961, in Reading, Pennsylvania, to Loretta M. (Erspamer) and Kenneth A. Behler. He grew up with strong family values and pursued his education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Juniata College. Tom’s dedication to hard work and his family business was evident throughout his life, as he spent 40 years contributing to Behler Patterns, Inc., eventually becoming the owner/operator for the last 16 years.

Tom’s commitment to his family was a cornerstone of his life. He was married to his wife Aida for 40 years, and together they raised three children: Erin (married to Greg Fiorentino), Andrew (married to Laura), and Mark (engaged to Danielle Fundakowski). He was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Clara, Caleb, Lydia, Jackson, and Adalynn.

Beyond his professional and family life, Tom was an active member of his community. He dedicated countless hours to coaching his children’s sports teams and served as a referee for baseball, softball, and basketball. His love for woodworking allowed him to craft special projects for his family, leaving behind cherished memories.

A Celebration of Life Service for Tom will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 11 AM at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., in Orwigsburg. Visitation will be available from 9 AM until the start of the service. In accordance with his wishes, interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, supporting a cause that was close to Tom’s heart. Donations can be sent to PO Box #91891, Washington, D.C. 20090-1891, or made online.

Tom Behler’s legacy of love, dedication, and community service will be remembered by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched throughout his life.
