Desperate Search Continues for Missing Kansas City Teen, T’Montez Hurt, After Disappearance from Greyhound Bus Station

Kansas City, Missouri – T’Montez Hurt, a 19-year-old freshman at Missouri Western State University, has been missing since February 1, 2024. Hurt was last seen at the Greyhound bus station in Kansas City, Missouri, after a troubling series of events that has left his family and the community deeply concerned.

On the morning of February 1st, Hurt made a distressing phone call to his grandmother, Tecona Donald-Sullivan, expressing fear and sounding unlike his usual self. Alarmed, she contacted Kansas City police, who located Hurt and took him to Saint Luke’s Hospital for observation. However, he was released just a few hours later, despite his evident distress.

After his release, Hurt took a Z Trip Taxi to the Greyhound bus station, but upon arrival, he discovered the station was closed. Hurt accidentally left his phone in the taxi and was captured on surveillance footage attempting to retrieve it. Unable to get back into the taxi, he began walking south, as seen on traffic cameras near 77th and Troost later that evening. This was the last confirmed sighting of Hurt.

Hurt’s disappearance has sparked a wave of concern and outrage, especially on social media, where many have questioned the actions of authorities and hospital staff. Jessica Meade, whose daughter attends the same college as Hurt, expressed her heartache, while others, like Teresa Begley, criticized the lack of attentiveness from those involved, stating that Hurt’s distress should have prompted more decisive action.

Family and community members continue to search for answers and pray for Hurt’s safe return. Michelle Gramajo, commenting on social media, expressed regret that Hurt’s grandmother was not with him at the time. Meanwhile, others have raised concerns about possible foul play, with some speculating about the involvement of the taxi driver or the possibility of trafficking.

Despite the widespread search efforts, including assistance from organizations like the Aware Foundation, there have been no updates on Hurt’s whereabouts. As days turn into weeks, the desperation and fear for Hurt’s safety grow.

Anyone with information about T’Montez Hurt is urged to contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol or local authorities immediately. The family remains hopeful but increasingly anxious as they continue their search for answers.
