Desperate Search Underway for Zachary DeMoss, Last Seen Near Kooskia, Idaho During Motorcycle Ride

Kooskia, Idaho – The search intensifies for 24-year-old Zachary DeMoss, who mysteriously disappeared during a motorcycle ride with friends on August 11, 2024. DeMoss, an experienced rider, was last seen on his black Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 along Route 12 near the Eagle Mountain Trailhead.

According to a Facebook post by Aly Phan, who was riding with DeMoss and another friend, the group had made a stop at Kooskia, Idaho, before continuing their journey. DeMoss had given his friends a head start but soon caught up and passed them before they reached a construction zone. When the group stopped down the road to wait for him, DeMoss and his bike were nowhere to be found.

Phan detailed the extensive search efforts that began immediately after DeMoss’s disappearance. The group returned to the trailhead where they last saw his bike but found no trace of DeMoss. After hours of searching the area, they expanded their efforts, checking every pullout and business along the route back to Idaho until 4 a.m., but still, there were no signs of him.

Aly Phan urged the public to help in the search, sharing details of DeMoss’s bike, which is distinctive with ape hanger handlebars, black Harley saddle bags, and a noticeable spike on each handle grip. His friends and family, along with local authorities, are now combing through the area, and search and rescue teams are expected to join the efforts.

On social media, the concern for DeMoss is palpable. "Oh no. Prayers he is found safe soon!" wrote Sandy Christensen, while Montana Marcia added, "Hope he is found safe." The worry among those who know him is evident as the hours pass with no word from DeMoss.

Anyone with information about DeMoss’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office at (406) 258-4810 as the search continues. DeMoss’s friends, family, and the entire community are anxiously awaiting any news that could lead to his safe return.
