Diane J. DuBois of Elmhurst, Illinois, Passes Away at 62; Community Mourns the Loss of a Devoted Mother and Cherished Friend

Diane J. DuBois, a beloved member of the Elmhurst, Illinois community, passed away recently at the age of 62. Known for her vibrant personality and deep connections with family and friends, Diane’s death has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew her.

Diane was a devoted mother to her three sons: Matt, who is engaged to Shelby Hamilton, Tom, who is partnered with Courtney Trunk, and Jason. She was also the cherished wife of Steve DuBois. Diane’s life revolved around her family, and she took immense pride in being a loving and supportive mother and wife.

A committed Catholic, Diane was a treasured member of her community, recognized for her generosity and the close bonds she maintained with her siblings, friends, and relatives. She was a devoted sister to Nancy (Antonio) Aguilar, Sue (Mark) Wagner, Father Edward Shea Jr., Eileen (Todd) Plantenga, Dan (Cindy) Shea, Julie (Rick) Cannon, and Maureen (Dave) Stephenson. Diane was also a beloved daughter of Eileen, née Garibaldi, and the late Edward F. Shea, and a cherished daughter-in-law of the late Corrine and Raymond DuBois Jr. Her extended family included numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws, all of whom held her in the highest regard.

To honor Diane’s life, a visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gibbons Funeral Home in Elmhurst. The following day, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM at Visitation Catholic Church in Elmhurst. In accordance with the family’s wishes, the burial will be private.

Diane’s passing is a significant loss to her family, friends, and the wider community. Her legacy of kindness, joy, and selflessness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. While she will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
