Diane Scott’s Disappearance in Harrisburg Remains Unsolved After More Than Two Decades

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – Diane Scott, a well-known civic figure and active member of the Bethuel Temple Church in Harrisburg, has been missing for over 23 years. She was last seen on the morning of May 5, 2001, after dropping one of her children off at school. Despite her long absence, the case remains unsolved.

On the day of her disappearance, Scott did not return to pick up her child, raising immediate concern among those close to her. However, she was not officially reported missing until May 24, 2001. When authorities searched her home on the 2600 block of Jefferson Street, they found her blue Pontiac Sunfire parked outside. Inside the house, they discovered her pocketbook, dentures, and wallet, which indicated she had not planned to leave voluntarily.

Scott had recently enrolled in cosmetology school and purchased a new car, showing she had plans for the future. Authorities have long believed she may have been the victim of a homicide. Her estranged husband, considered a person of interest due to a history of violence in their relationship, has been questioned multiple times. Despite his claims that he was not with Scott on the day she disappeared, he has not been ruled out as a potential suspect.

A troubling clue in the case is the disappearance of a large tub from Scott’s house around the same time she vanished. The tub was big enough to conceal a woman of Scott’s size, leading to further suspicions of foul play. Despite these leads, Scott’s fate remains unknown, and her disappearance is still unsolved.

On social media, community members continue to express their thoughts and concerns. One user, Active Crimhorra, shared, "Scott was last seen in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on the morning of May 5, 2001… Her disappearance remains unsolved."

The community in Harrisburg and Scott’s loved ones continue to seek answers and hope for closure in this tragic case. Anyone with information is urged to contact local authorities.
