Lancaster County, Pennsylvania – A tragic car accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Penn Township has claimed the lives of 43-year-old Donnell Hickson from Baldwin, New York, and his two children.
The accident occurred on Saturday morning near Mile Marker 268.8 when Hickson’s passenger vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer. Donnell Hickson was driving the car with his two children, 18-year-old Decir Hickson and his 11-year-old daughter, whose name has not been released due to her age.
The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, led by Dr. Stephen Diamantoni, confirmed that all three occupants of the vehicle died from multiple traumatic injuries. The deaths have been ruled accidental. The passenger vehicle sustained significant damage in the collision.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. The condition of the tractor-trailer driver has not been disclosed.
State Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, as they work to understand what led to this heartbreaking accident.
