Easton Community Mourns the Sudden Loss of Retired Sergeant Gordon Lee Jr., a Pillar of Service and Dedication

Easton, Maryland – The Easton community is grappling with the unexpected passing of Retired 1st Sergeant Gordon Lee Jr., a beloved former officer of the Easton Police Department. Sgt. Lee, who served the department for over 20 years, passed away suddenly on August 19, 2024, after suffering a medical emergency while exercising at a local fitness center.

Sgt. Gordon Lee Jr. was not only a respected law enforcement officer but also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. His life was defined by his commitment to duty, loyalty, and the protection of others, both in his military service and during his long tenure with the Easton Police Department. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and the broader Easton community.

The news of Sgt. Lee’s death has prompted an outpouring of grief and tributes from those who knew him. Maryland Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) extended its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the Easton Police Department, emphasizing the profound impact Sgt. On Facebook, members of the Mid-Shore community shared their sorrow and memories of Sgt. Lee. Michael Elliott wrote, "Uplifting prayers for Sgt Gordon’s family and his law enforcement family." Ben Smith remarked, "Any article about Gordon’s life that doesn’t mention the Marine Corps almost seems incomplete…" Reflecting on Sgt. Lee’s character, Shaun Barringer simply stated, "Was an awesome guy, that’s for sure!"
