Fondly known as "Canty," Paul Cantwell was a respected figure in the law enforcement community, having served with distinction throughout his career.
The Englewood Police Department shared the news on their social media, expressing their sorrow over the loss of a man who had become a great friend and ally to many officers. "Canty was the quintessential old-school cop," they stated, highlighting his quick response to requests for assistance and his participation in the Police Unity Tour. Cantwell was also known for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with his colleagues at police funerals, further solidifying his reputation as a steadfast and supportive officer.
The announcement prompted an outpouring of tributes on Facebook, with many expressing their condolences and sharing memories of Cantwell.
